Excerpt 3

The clock chimed and she glanced at the time. Was it only 2PM? Outside, the sun was glaring and she quickly pulled down the blinds. No point in getting a headache, or worst, a migraine. As the minutes ticked by slowly, she sighed and grabbed a nutrition bar from the cupboard. Peeling open the wrapper, she took a bite, hoping that eating it will keep her awake. Realizing it was to no avail, she wondered if a little doze will be alright. After all, she was tired and unable to function.

Excerpt 2:

Their love was always sweet. People who heard their stories would always sigh happily as if that story was really theirs, and even the guys will wonder why didn't they think of the idea first. Maybe it was the general public opinion, but to her, she felt empty. It seemed just like a cover, a play, a beautiful cliche movie. They had been chased to get married quickly, which they did, under much pressure. Perhaps it was the pressure, but then again, what if it was not?

He was like Prince Charming, always treating her like she was made out of glass and the love in his eyes was intense. She sometimes wondered if he could see the sadness in her eyes, as she thought about the other guy... the one she missed, the one she loved... still love. Shaking her head, she tried to erase the thoughts as he entered the room. He rose a quizzical eyebrow, but she could only offer a faint smile. As they lay together in bed that night, she wondered why this felt like cheating.
